Kuklux-Klan, polit. Geheimbund in den Südstaaten von Nordamerika, entstand 1867 in Nordkarolina, richtete seine gewalttätigen Handlungen gegen alles, was den Tendenzen der frühern (demokrat.) Sklavenhalterpartei zuwiderlief, und konnte erst durch das 20. April 1871 erlassene Anti-Kukluxgesetz unterdrückt werden.
